Montpellier HSC/new stadium: "Planning permission to be submitted at the end of 2023" (L. Nicollin)

"The new stadium project is moving forward. We're waiting for other things to happen... nothing is ever really set in stone, everything can change, but we're making progress. I think that planning permission will be submitted in November or December 2023, or even January 2024. There are still some details to be worked out, because financially, it's a big project; inflation is also forcing us to revise the estimate by adding a few million euros," said Laurent Nicollin, president of Montpellier Hérault Sport Club (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), via the French club's website on 25/05/2023.

Nicollin was referring to plans to build a new stadium for Montpellier, who currently play at the Stade de La Mosson and the Stade du Mondial 98 (22,000 capacity, Montpellier, Hérault). Initially scheduled to open in 2022 and then 2024, the Stade Louis-Nicollin could be delivered in 2026.
