Ligue 1: Lens gets postponement of its scheduled hearing regarding the club's financial status

"Recent statements by Azerbaijani Minister of Sports forced us, in agreement with the DNCG (French National Directorate of Management Control), to request a postponement of the hearing of RC Lens expected this morning," announced Gervais Martel, president of RC Lens (Ligue 1) on 27/11/2014.

During the hearing, RC Lens was expected to demonstrate proof of a payment of €2.5m to lift the temporary transfer issued against the club by the DNCG on 05/08/2014. This ban was issued on the grounds that Hafiz Mammadov, the majority shareholder of the club, had failed to pay the €4m (he has only paid €1.5m to date) which was due to the club by October 2014.
