Newcastle United FC: Fun88 renews as betting partner but will not be main shirt sponsor in 2023-24

Fun88, an Asian sports betting and online gambling operator, has renewed as an official betting partner of Newcastle United FC (Premier League) in Asia as part of a "multi-year" agreement, however it will no longer be the club's main shirt sponsor from the 2023-24 season, announced the bookmaker on 05/06/2023.

The bookmaker had been the club's main shirt sponsor since 2017-18, paying an estimated £6.5m (€7.6m) per season. Through this partnership, Fun88 will offer "in-market initiatives, official club merchandise and VIP experiences for supporters," said the club.

This announcement comes after the Premier League clubs collectively agreed to ban the use of sports betting operators as main shirt sponsors from the 2026-27 season, as approved by the English League on 13/04/2023. In 2022-23, eight of the 20 Premier League clubs (40%) had a sports betting operator as their main shirt sponsor.
