Serie A TIM/TV rights: "We'll be there during the call for tenders" (A. Duilio, Sky Italia)

"The Serie A TIM is important, we have invested €10bn in recent years and we are the main financial backers of Italian football and sport. It's something pertinent that we're evaluating, but we'll be there during the call for tenders. We will do our best for our subscribers and shareholders," said Andrea Duilio, CEO of the pay-TV operator Sky Italia, during the presentation of a study entitled "Sky Italia's contribution to society and the national economy" conducted by SDA Bocconi (a business school) on 06/06/2023.

Lega Serie A launched the tender for the broadcasting rights in Italy to the Serie A TIM from the 2024-25 season on 19/05/2023. The deadline for the submission of bids is Wednesday 14/06/2023 at 10:00 CET. Interested broadcasters can submit bids for a three, four or five-year cycle (i.e. until 2028-29). The reserve price is €1.2bn per year for a three-year cycle, €1.32bn for a four-year cycle and €1.44bn for a five-year cycle. The tender is split into eight separate lots with three different options for each lot.
