2017 FIFA Confederations Cup: competition organised in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Kazan

The four host cities of the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Kazan, confirmed Vitaly Mutko, the Russian Sports Minister and member of the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) executive committee on 23/11/2014. The nest FIFA executive committee meeting, to be held on the sidelines of the Club World Cup (in Morocco, from 10 to 20/12/2014), will decide the date of the opening match and the final of the 2017 Confederations Cup, and those of the 2018 World Cup.

In the context of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Vitaly Mutko further states that the construction of the Kaliningrad stadium will begin in April 2015: "There are no questions for 10 out of 12 stadiums. Time frames for the stadiums in Yekaterinburg and Kaliningrad were corrected. The stadium in Kaliningrad will have 35,000 places. With regards to a place for construction of the stadium, all locations were considered. I do not want to announce anything, but we will close this question in the coming week."
