Football Benchmark 2023: a record valuation of €51.7bn for the 32 major European clubs

After rising by 10% (+€3.4bn) in 2022, the aggregate valuation of Europe's 32 leading football clubs is set to rise by a further 40% (+€14.4bn) to a record €51.7bn in 2023 (up from €37.3bn in 2022), according to the 8^th edition of "The European Elite" report published by Football Benchmark, a football-dedicated business intelligence platform from the Hungarian consultancy Ace Advisory, on 08/06/2023.

For the first time since the report was launched in 2016, Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) do not occupy first place. The Madrid club (valued at €4bn, up 25.8%) has been overtaken by Manchester City FC (Premier League), whose valuation is the highest (€4.07bn, up 64.1% on 2022). Manchester United FC (Premier League) completes the podium (€3.92bn, +36.4%).

Of the 32 clubs surveyed, AC Milan (Serie A TIM, 15^th, €1,060m) posted the biggest percentage growth (+83.3%). In contrast to the three previous editions, only four leagues in the European Top 5 have at least one representative among the 10 most valuable clubs.
