Premier League: record average of 40,267 spectators per game & average fill rate of 98.7% in 2022-23

The 20 Premier League clubs drew an average of 40,267 spectators per match during the 2022-23 season, up 0.9% on the record 2021-22 season (39,950 spectators). The English top flight thus welcomed a total of 14.98 million spectators, compared with 15.2 million in 2021-22. This puts the Premier League in second place among the European Top 5 in terms of attendance, behind the Bundesliga (42,967).

With 73,589 spectators per match at Old Trafford (74,879 capacity), Manchester United FC was the English club with the highest attendance in 2022-23, ahead of West Ham United FC (62,084 spectators at the London Stadium) and Tottenham Hotspur FC (61,585 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium). The Manchester club is fourth in the European Top 5, behind FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander, 83,498 spectators), Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga, 81,228) and FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga, 75,000).
