Christian Purslow is stepping down as CEO of Aston Villa FC (Premier League), a position he has held since September 2018, announced the club on 12/06/2023. The Briton had also become a minority shareholder in the London club at the same time.

"We would like to thank Christian for his outstanding leadership of the club over the last five seasons. He has overseen a transformation of the club both on and off the pitch and delivered the ambitious turnaround plan he presented to us when he arrived in 2018. We are grateful for all he has done," said American businessman Wes Edens and Egyptian-Belgian businessman Nassef Sawiris, who have been co-owners of Aston Villa since May 2018 via the company NSWE.
