Portugal: Puma (GER) becomes the football supplier for Liga Portugal competitions (2023-2026)

Puma has become an official sponsor (2^nd level) and football supplier for the Liga Portugal competitions (Primeira Liga, Segunda Liga, Allianz Cup) for three seasons (2023-2026), announced the governing body on 09/06/2023. The Portuguese league becomes the third European league whose footballs are supplied by the German brand, after Lega Serie A (since 2022-23) and LaLiga (2019-2024).

The German equipment manufacturer succeeds the Danish brand Select, which signed a contract with the Portuguese professional league for the 2019-2023 cycle. "Both parties will also collaborate on marketing initiatives, events and brand activation, always with a focus on creating value for fans," said Liga Portugal.

The announcement comes as Puma could also take over from Nike as official supplier to the Portuguese national team from 2025, according to the Spanish sports daily Marca on 06/06/2023. The American brand has been a partner of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) since 1997.
