The streaming platform Netflix is reportedly in talks to broadcast a live golf tournament in autumn 2023, according to the US daily The Wall Street Journal on 12/06/2023.

This would be the first sporting event to be broadcast live on the streaming service. The event could bring together "celebrities" from the documentary series broadcast exclusively on the platform, "Drive to Survive" (on the Formula 1 World Championship) and "Full Swing" (on the PGA Tour), according to The Wall Street Journal.

In 2022, Netflix made offers to acquire the live broadcasting rights to the ATP tennis circuit in several European countries, including France and the UK, according to information reported by Wall Street Journal on 08/11/2022. No agreement was eventually reached, but the platform had also expressed interest in the streaming rights to the WTA tennis circuit and cycling competitions in the UK, according to Wall Street Journal. Netflix was also in talks to acquire the rights to the World Surf League at the end of 2021, but no agreement was reached, again according to the Wall Street Journal.
