Bundesliga: €150m in foreign TV rights in 2015-16, with 18 new contracts for 2015-2017

DFL Sports Enterprises, the agency of the DFL (German Professional Football League), which markets the audiovisual and commercial rights to the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga (German second division), sold the broadcast rights to the 2015-16 and 2016 -17 seasons of the German first division in 18 countries in Europe and Central Asia, announced the German league on 27/11/2014. The tender for the allocation of broadcasting rights in these 18 countries was launched on 18/09/2014 (and closed on 01/10/2014).

The main countries concerned are Spain, Greece, Turkey and Russia. "These signings prove once more that we have been able to successfully continue our strategy of placing Bundesliga football on major international media networks, thus combining quantitative with qualitative growth," said Jörg Daubitzer, the managing director of DFL Sports Enterprises.

"These new European agreements will contribute to our more than doubling the international sales for the upcoming rights period, and will help us to exceed the €150m per season mark already in the 2015/2016 season," added Jörg Daubitzer…
