Ligue 1 Uber Eats: an average of 23,810 spectators/game (+16%) & stadium fill rate of 81% in 2022-23

The 20 Ligue 1 Uber Eats clubs posted an average of 23,810 spectators per match during the 2022-23 season, up 16% compared to the 2021-22 season (18,265 spectators per game) and 4.3% on the 2018-19 season (22,831 spectators), the last to be played in its entirety without any restrictions on spectator numbers. The French top flight thus welcomed a total of 9.05 million spectators, a record for the league, versus just over eight million in 2021-22. Despite this unprecedented total, Ligue 1 still ranks bottom among the European Top 5 leagues in terms of attendance, well behind the Serie A TIM in fourth place (29,386).

The 2021-22 Ligue 1 Uber Eats season had been relatively unaffected by the health crisis compared to its European neighbours (apart from the Premier League), with a handful of matches played at partial capacity at the beginning of the season, then three matchdays (20, 21 and 22) played with a 5,000-capacity limit when the season resumed in January 2022.
