Tennis: prize money for Wimbledon 2023 reaches £44.7m (+11.2% compared to 2022)

The prize money for the 2023 edition of Wimbledon, which runs from 03/07 to 16/07/2023, will be a record £44.7m (€52m), up 11.2% compared to 2022 (£40.35m) and 17.1% versus 2019 (£37m), according to the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) on 14/06/2023.

The winners of the 2023 men's and women's singles will take home £2.35m (€2.73m, +17.5% vs 2022), the singles finalists £1,175m (€1.37m, +11.9%), while the winners of the double (men's and women's) will receive £600,000 (€699,120). The prize money for male and female singles players eliminated in the first round has increased by 14.5% (£55,000 / €64,000) compared to 2022.

"Our ambition with this distribution is to return the singles champions and runners-up prize money to the levels in 2019 prior to the pandemic whilst, alongside, providing deserved support for players in the early rounds of the event," said Ian Hewitt, chairman of the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
