England: Massimo Cellino (Leeds United) disqualified from the Football League due to tax evasion

Massimo Cellino, the president and majority shareholder of Leeds United AFC (Championship, English second division), has been disqualified by the Football League (organising body of the English second, third, and fourth divisions) and asked to resign from the club on 01/12/2014.

The board of the Football League agreed unanimously (with the exception of the chief executive Shaun Harvey due his previous employment at Leeds United) under the conditions of the Owners' and Directors' Test in the Football League's bylaws, that the tax evasion case of Massimo Cellino in Cagliari (ITA) meets the requirements of the Football League's Disqualifying Condition. Massimo Cellino has the right to appeal the board's decision until 15/12/2014.
