India: Star India acquires TV rights for the Bundesliga for 2015-2020

The Indian audiovisual group Star India has acquired the broadcast rights in India to the Bundesliga for the 2015-2020 period, according to DFL Sports Enterprises, a subsidiary of the DFL (German Football League), which manages the audiovisual and commercial rights the DFL, on 26/11/2014, thus confirming the announcement in the Indian press on 25/11/2014.

The matches of the German first division will be broadcast on the pay-TV channel Star Sports (Star India group). The Bundesliga broadcasting rights in India have been held by the pay-TV group Neo Sports since 2012-13. The group pays an estimated $300,000 (€240,000) per season until the end of 2014-15. Star India will pay a sum far greater than that from 2015-16, according to Indian media.
