RCD Mallorca: American chairman Andy Kohlberg becomes majority shareholder of the club

Andy Kohlberg, the American chairman of RCD Mallorca (LaLiga Santander), has become the club's majority shareholder, on 19/06/2023. The investors group led by Kohlberg has acquired the stakes of several other shareholders.

This reorganisation of the club's shareholding structure will be approved on 30/06/2023, and a new board of directors will be appointed on the same day. The group of shareholders led by Andy Kohlberg has notably acquired the shares of Robert Sarver, who was previously the club's majority shareholder. The former owner of the Phoenix Suns (NBA) and the Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) had already sold his two basketball franchises in December 2022. He was suspended for a year by the North American men's and women's basketball leagues after being accused of racist, misogynistic and sexist behaviour as part of an investigation by ESPN in November 2021.
