Premier League: BK8 (betting) to replace Cazoo as main shirt sponsor of Aston Villa FC (2023-2026)

BK8, a sports betting operator based in Malaysia, has become the principal partner and main shirt sponsor of Aston Villa FC (Premier League) for three seasons (2023-2026), announced the club on 22/06/2023. 

This agreement will therefore come to an end right before the ban on main shirt sponsorship by bookmakers is  implemented for all Premier League clubs, from the 2026-27 season onwards. In 2022-23, eight of the 20 Premier League clubs (40%) displayed a sports betting operator as their main shirt sponsor. This proportion was the highest among the European Top 5 leagues where such sponsorship is permitted (only three out of 20 clubs in Ligue 1 Uber Eats and no clubs in the Bundesliga).

As part of BK8's agreement with Aston Villa, "the club’s third kit will see BK8 make a contribution per adult third shirt sold to a local charity in Birmingham (ENG). The deal also includes various advertising opportunities including advertising assets at Villa Park, which will be given to charity organisations to display promotional messages throughout the season," said the club.
