Liga F: non-payment by Finetwork, which denies the existence of a title sponsorship agreement

"Finetwork and Liga F have entered into a binding and effective agreement under which the fibre optic and telecommunications company has become the title sponsor and official partner of the Finetwork Liga F, with a number of associated rights and obligations as defined in the contract," said the Spanish professional women's football league (Liga Profesional de Fútbol Femenino, LPFF), on 21/06/2023.

The LPFF had announced the acquisition, by Finetwork, of the naming rights to the Spanish women's top flight for three seasons (2022-2025) for an estimated €15m on 06/10/2022. "No sponsorship contract has been offered, negotiated or even formalised," said Finetwork. The company explained that its failure to pay €4m (for the 2022-23 season) was because the parties had only entered into a "simple agreement of intent for the negotiation of a possible sponsorship contract, which has become null and void."
