ExclusiveOneFootball: Lucas von Cranach to step down as CEO, several departures within the management team

Lucas von Cranach, founder of OneFootball, is to step down as CEO of the international football media platform with immediate effect, according to information from News Tank on 23/06/2023.

Ismail Elshareef, chief product officer, and Joerg Meiner, chief financial officer, are also stepping down from their positions. Patrick Fischer, OneFootball's current chief business officer, has been promoted to co-CEO alongside another person, whose identity has not been communicated.

These departures come after OneFootball made a further 150 redundancies in February 2023. At the time, this number represented 32% of the platform's total workforce of 470. This decision is reportedly once again linked to the poor financial results of the company's Web3 joint venture OneFootball Labs. The platform had already made 62 redundancies at the beginning of December 2022.
