Turkey: Mehmet Büyükekşi re-elected president of the Turkish Football Federation for a 4-year term

"The ordinary general assembly of the Turkiye Futbol Federasyonu was held today in Ankara (TUR) and TFF president Mehmet Büyükekşi, who stood for election as the sole candidate, was re-elected for a four-year term," announced the Turkish Football Federation on 23/06/2023.

"In this centenary year of the Republic of Türkiye there are many things that we want to do for Turkish football and our country. Our target is not only to qualify for Euro 2024 (in Germany) - we also want to leave our mark on the tournament," added the former president of Gaziantep FK, who is also a member of the board of directors of Ziylan Group, a Turkish sports footwear manufacturer.

Turkey has also submitted a bid to host the European Championship in 2028 or 2032.
