Udinese Calcio: Dacia (main shirt sponsor/stadium naming partner) will not extend beyond 2022-23

Dacia, a Romanian car brand belonging to the French Renault group, has ended its sponsorship agreement with Udinese Calcio (Serie A TIM), it announced on 23/06/2023. The brand had been the Italian club's main shirt sponsor since the 2009-10 season, and had held the naming rights for the Dacia Arena (25,132 capacity) since its inauguration in 2016-17. The agreement was worth an estimated €2.5m per season.

The naming agreement for the Stadio Friuli was the first in Italy to be signed by a car manufacturer. Although the decision not to renew the rights is linked to "new strategies" on the part of the Dacia brand, "the fruitful 13-year journey has seen Dacia's market share in Italy grow by over four points in the automotive markey," according to Udinese. Since the 2019-20 season, the two partners have also been involved in the 'carbon-free stadium' project, aimed at reducing the carbon impact of the club's stadium.
