Motor sports: group of investors including RedBird acquires 24% stake (€200m) in Alpine Racing Ltd

Renault Group and its subsidiary Alpine are welcoming Otro Capital, RedBird Capital Partners and Maximum Effort Investments (led by Canadian-American actor Ryan Reynolds) to acquire a 24% stake in Alpine Racing Ltd, the entity responsible for the activities of the BWT Alpine F1 Team, via a €200m investment, announced the French car manufacturer on 26/06/2023.

"The transaction values Alpine Racing Ltd around $900m (€825m) following this investment. It will accelerate Alpine’s growth plans and sporting ambitions in F1." Alpine Racing SAS, the entity that produces Formula 1 engines in Viry-Châtillon (Essonne, FRA), is not part of the transaction and will remain wholly owned by Renault Group.

BWT Alpine F1 Team, based in Enstone (ENG), "will benefit from the Investor Group's collective expertise and track record in the sports industry including media, sponsorship, ticketing, hospitality, commercial rights management, licensing, and merchandising strategies to unlock incremental value creation and new growth levers," added the team.
