LaLiga: CA Osasuna challenge their possible exclusion from 2023-24 Europa Conference League by UEFA

"The club does not share UEFA's criteria and will appeal to the Appeals Body, and announces that it will fight legally, to the last consequences, to defend its rights," said Club Atletico Osasuna (LaLiga Santander) on 23/06/2023.

The Basque club, which finished seventh in the 2022-23 LaLiga Santander and as such qualified for the 2023-24 Europa Conference League group stage play-offs, is contesting the conclusions of the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body inspectors' report, which deemed it "ineligible" to take part in the competition.

CA Osasuna is accused of "events that occurred in the 2013-14 season and which, in the opinion of UEFA, contravene its article 4.1g of the competition regulations" which state that, in order to take part in a European competition, a player must not have "been directly and/or indirectly involved, since the entry into force of Article 50(3) of the UEFA Statutes, that is, on 27/04/2007, in any activity intended to organise or influence the result of a match."
