Bundesliga: Court of Justice confirms the termination of the agreement between Schalke 04 and Viagogo

The Gelsenkirchen Court of Justice (GER) confirmed the termination of the agreement between Viagogo, the online ticket exchange platform, and FC Schalke 04 (Bundesliga) on 27/11/2014.

The club broke its partnership with Viagogo on 09/07/2013, nine days after signing the contract between the two parties on 01/07/2013. The German club has given up the agreement of €1.2m per year for three seasons (2013-14 to 2015-16), which would have allowed the platform to market 3,000 places per match on its site.

"Viagogo did not comply with contractual provisions despite repeated calls from the club," said Clemens Tonnies, chairman of FC Schalke 04, on 09/07/2013. German leaders reproached Viagogo for offering significantly higher prices than the club's rates, while the contract stipulated that the company could not exceed double the normal price.
