UEFA FootbALL awards 2023: the Belgian FA, DFL, Arsenal FC & Lilian Thuram awarded

The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA), the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH, Arsenal FC (Premier League) and former French international Lilian Thuram are the winners of the first UEFA FootbALL awards presented by the European Confederation in recognition of inclusion initiatives in the world of football, announced the body on 27/06/2023.

Arsenal was rewarded for its "No More Red" campaign, run in collaboration with its equipment manufacturer adidas, which helps "keep young people safe from knife crime and youth violence." The London club was also praised as the first club to fully integrate sign language at every home game.

"The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga is being recognised for their continuous fight against discrimination and for their activities during International Weeks Against Racism. Furthermore, the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga are the first major professional football leagues to include mandatory sustainability criteria in their licensing regulations. The criteria became applicable for the first time in the licensing process for the 2023-24 season," said UEFA.
