World Leagues Forum: a survey regarding changes to the Laws of the Game involving 41 member leagues

World Leagues Forum has published a "Survey on the Laws of the Game" (document available to download) to coincide with the meeting of its supervisory board in London (ENG) on 27 and 28/06/2023.

The study, which involved 41 of Word Leagues Forum's 44 member leagues, concerns "testing potential changes to the Laws of the Game to make the game more attractive," according to WLF.

"During an exchange session with IFAB executives, the leagues proposed working together to better handle time wasting during matches. The WLF also supported making more microphone audio (from referees) available to watching fans, as well as testing temporary substitutions in the case of suspected concussions, also supported by players' representatives," explained World Leagues Forum.

Among the findings of the study:
•a majority of leagues (22 out of 41) are against the temporary exclusion of a player in the event of a yellow card;
• 25 leagues consider that a goal should be awarded when an outfield player on his goal line deliberately prevents the ball from going in with his hand
