Facebook: Real Madrid earns 9.4 million more fans since the beginning of the season (+13.6%)

With 78.4 million fans, Real Madrid CF (Liga BBVA) recorded an increase of 9.4 million since the beginning of the season, the largest increase (+13.6%) among the 20 most followed European clubs on Facebook, as of 03/12/2014. The Madrid club is the second in Europe, behind FC Barcelona, which has 79.4 million "like" mentions on the social network.

The two Spanish clubs are significantly ahead of the next clubs on Facebook, all from the Barclays Premier League: Manchester United FC (62.1 million fans), Chelsea FC (38.8 million) and Arsenal FC (30.9 million).

Three clubs above 50 million

• 14 of the 18 clubs who have an account (Getafe CF and Rayo Vallecano do not have a Facebook account) are less than one million fans.
