Olympic Esports Series 2024/France bid: "Decision at the end of July 2023" (B. Perrin, Paris&Co)

"The decision on France's commitment to its bid to host the IOC's Olympic Esports Series 2024 will be made by the end of July 2023. First, we need to analyse the feedback from the 2023 edition organised in Singapore," said Bertrand Perrin, director of the esports incubator Level 256 at Paris&Co, to News Tank Football on 04/07/2023.

Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, the French Minister for Sport and the Olympic Games, made France's bid to host the Olympic Esports Series 2024, the IOC's competition series for virtual sports games, official on 16/01/2023. A bid committee was subsequently set up, headed by Matthieu Péché (manager of Team Vitality on the Counter-Strike game and bronze medallist at Rio 2016 in canoeing and kayaking), and co-piloted by the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), the Interministerial Delegation for Major Sports Events (DIGES) and Paris&Co. This committee has "more of an expert role, with the IOC and the Ministry making the final decision," explained Bertrand Perrin.
