Social media/Premier League: 28.4 million additional followers for Manchester City in 2022-23

The 20 clubs that participated in the 2022-23 Premier League have a total of nearly 860 million followers on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter as of 02/07/2023, up 119.7 million from 01/08/2022, according to data compiled by News Tank Football. The English league has an average of approximately 43 million followers per club.

Manchester United FC is the most followed club in the Premier League with 197.2 million, ahead of Chelsea FC, the 2^nd most popular club with 129 million followers. Manchester City FC completes the podium with 124.8 million.

Manchester City posted the best growth in absolute value, with an additional 28.4 million followers (+29.5%) over the whole season, including 44% on TikTok alone. The 2022-23 English champions are ahead of Tottenham Hotspur FC, which saw its number of follower increase by 20.5 million (+32.2%) between August 2022 and July 2023.
