France/NFL: M6 acquires free-to-air broadcasting rights for the 2023-2027 cycle

The French free-TV group M6 has acquired the free-to-air broadcasting rights in France to the NFL for the 2023-2027 cycle, on 05/07/2023.

During the 2023 season (starting on 08/09/2023), 18 regular season games will be broadcast live on the streaming platform 6play, while the group's free DTT channel W9 will broadcast three playoff games. The Super Bowl will be broadcast on the free-to-air channel M6 on 11/02/2024.

The Super Bowl was broadcast free-to-air on W9 between 2010 and 2018 and on the free private TV channel TF1 in 2019 and 2020. L'Équipe then held the free-to-air rights to the North American league (17 regular season games, one playoff game per gameday and the Super Bowl) for the 2020-2023 cycle.

No announcement has yet been made regarding the NFL's pay-TV rights, although the pay-TV group beIN Sports France has held all the rights since 2012 (last cycle 2020-2023).
