Formula 1/2024 calendar: a record 24 Grands Prix scheduled, including 3 races on a Saturday

24 Grands Prix have been scheduled for the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship season, announced the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile and Formula One Group on 05/07/2023.

While 24 races were initially scheduled for 2023, only 22 rounds will be contested following the cancellations of the Chinese Grand Prix (due to logistical complications linked to the Covid-19 pandemic) and the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Italy (due to flooding in the region). Despite four successive cancellations since 2020, the Chinese Grand Prix remains on the programme for 2024. As in 2023, the French Grand Prix has not been retained for this new season.

The first two races of the season will be held successively in Bahrain (from 29/02 for free practice) and Saudi Arabia (from 07/03), with two Grand Prix contested respectively on Saturdays 02 and 09/03/2024 instead of the traditional race Sunday in order to avoid the Ramadan period which begins on 10/03/2023.
