"The opportunity that the Euro 2016 provides with the construction of new stadiums is a rare opportunity for the inclusion of new technologies and renewable energy alternatives which will be in place for generations to come," said Laurence Kemball-Cook, CEO and founder of Pavegen Systems, to News Tank on 03/12/2014. "Pavegen is a flooring tile that converts the wasted energy from your footstep into electricity," he explained.

"I was looking at how to make cities, and especially street lighting, more sustainable. So I looked at things like solar and wind. But with solar, when the sun is not shining, there's no power, and when there is no wind, there's no (wind) power. So I thought, what if there was a power source that's all around us, that's literally under our feet," stated Laurence Kemball-Cook at the TEDxRio+20 conference in Rio de Janeiro (BRA) on 10/10/2012. Laurence Kemball-Cook explains his footfall power technology and details the development strategy of Pavegen Systems by answering questions from News Tank.
