Social media/Bundesliga: 13.8 million additional followers for Bayern Munich in 2022-23

The 18 clubs that participated in the 2022-23 Bundesliga have a total of 207.9 million followers on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter as of 02/07/2023, up 25.1 million from 01/08/2022, according to data compiled by News Tank Football. The German league has an average of approximately 11.5 million followers per club.

FC Bayern Munich is the club with the most followers, with 119.4 million, including 13.8 million new followers over the season (+13.1%). The Bavarian club is ahead of Borussia Dortmund, the 2^nd most popular club with 45.3 million followers, including 3.5 million new followers (+8.5%). Bayer 04 Leverkusen is in third place with 7.5 million.

In terms of absolute value growth between August 2022 and July 2023, Bayern Munich, with 40% of their new fans coming from TikTok, are also in first place, ahead of Borussia Dortmund. RB Leipzig, with an additional 1.7 million followers, complete the podium.
