UEFA-CONMEBOL: Sevilla FC (ESP) - Independiente del Valle (ECU) on 19/07/2023 at S. Pizjuán Stadium

UEFA and CONMEBOL are to launch the "Club Challenge", a match between the 2022-23 Europa League winners Sevilla FC (LaLiga EA Sports) and the winners of the 2022 CONMEBOL Sudamericana, Independiente del Valle (Ecuador), announced both parties on 07/07/2023. The match will be held on 19/07/2023 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium in Seville (ESP).

This initiative "is part of the expansion of the cooperation between UEFA and CONMEBOL, which notably includes women's football, futsal and youth categories, the exchange of referees and technical training schemes," said UEFA.

Both confederations have already held exceptional matches between their representatives through the Finalissima, which pits the respective winners of the women’s and men’s UEFA European Championship against the Copa América holders. The first men's edition took place on 01/06/2022 at Wembley Stadium (Argentina beat Italy 3-0), while the first women's edition was held on 06/04/2023, also at the London venue (England beat Brazil 1-1, 4-2 on penalties).
