Club Atlético de Madrid: a partnership with RDB Group to create a professional club in India

Club Atlético de Madrid (LaLiga EA Sports) has entered into a partnership with RDB Group, an Indian real estate company, to support their project to create the first professional football club in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The club, named Inter Kashi, was officially launched on 29/06/2023 in Varanasi, the state capital, announced the club on the same day.

"Atlético de Madrid will bring its know-how to this project, both in terms of the first team's sporting performance and the development of young players through the creation of the Atlético de Bharat academy," said Atlético de Madrid. The club's first team will compete in the Hero I-League (Indian 2^nd division) from the 2023-24 season.

"The Inter Kashi sports team will be managed by Carlos Santamarina, who has been working in India for the last four years as head of the project that our academy has signed with the Indian industrial group Tata," explained the club.
