Rugby/Scotland: Scottish Gas (energy) succeeds BT as title sponsor of Murrayfield Stadium

Scottish Gas, a brand belonging to the British energy supply group Centrica, has become a principal partner (1^st level) of the Scottish Rugby Union and title sponsor of the Murrayfield Stadium (68,000 capacity), home of the Scottish men's XV, which will be known as "Scottish Gas Murrayfield" for five seasons (2023-2028), announced the Scottish Rugby on 13/07/2023.

Scottish Gas succeeds BT, a British telecommunications group that has held the naming rights to Murrayfield Stadium since 28/05/2014. BT then became the main jersey sponsor of the Scottish Men's XV on 14/04/2015 before being replaced by Peter Vardy (car dealership) on 07/04/2021.

While Peter Vardy has retained its jersey sponsorship on the front of the men's XV shirts, Scottish Gas is now the main shirt sponsor of the senior women's team, replacing energy supplier SP Energy Network. The brand belonging to the Spanish group Iberdrola occupied this sponsorship space for the 2018-2023 cycle.
