The French telecom group Orange became official partner of the newly renovated Stade Velodrome (capacity 67,000) in Marseille, announced Arema, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction and operator of the stadium, on 05/12/2014.

The three-year contract will end in 2017. Orange gets the visibility in the enclosure for all organised events, but will not become the naming rights partner of the Stade Velodrome. The telecom operator will also benefit from privileged access to various facilities of the stadium for matches and concerts. Orange is also a partner of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1), resident club of the Velodrome since 2001. Still looking for a naming partner, Arema is now looking at companies from the United States.

  • Orange was negotiating to get the naming of the Velodrome Stadium, stated Bruno Botella, president of Arema, to News Tank on 02/07/2014.

The Stade Velodrome will host six of the 51 matches of Euro 2016

  • The Stade Velodrome was officially opened in the presence of Jean-Claude Gaudin, Mayor of Marseille, Patrick Kanner, Minister of the City, Youth and Sports…
