Tennis/Wimbledon 2023: partnership with LALIGA Tech to block the distribution of illegal content

The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), organiser of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament, entered into a partnership with LALIGA Tech, the Spanish Football League's range of technology solutions, for the 2023 edition of the tournament (played from 03 to 16/07/2023), announced LALIGA on 17/07/2023.

"Content Protection services carried out continuous monitoring and elimination of pirated content related to matches broadcast from the two weeks of The Championships. This monitoring has been carried out across all search engines, social media sites, online marketplaces, IPTV services or apps from any location," explained LALIGA.

The organisers of the tournament "received global monitoring services that identify, analyse and remove illegal broadcast of its matches. With a worldwide audience that reaches more than 80 million, Wimbledon is one of the standout events of the global sporting calendar and protecting its hundreds of matches from illegal consumption is a key challenge to safeguarding the prestige of the event and the value of broadcasting rights," added the Spanish league.
