United Kingdom: launch of TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport) via the BT/Eurosport UK joint venture

The TNT Sports package was officially launched on Tuesday 18/07/2023 in the UK and Ireland, replacing telecoms operator BT Group's BT Sport package, announced media and entertainment conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery and BT Group on the same day.

Warner Bros. Discovery and BT Group had announced this development on 21/02/2023. It follows the creation of a BT Sport/Eurosport UK joint venture in these territories, the transaction for which was officially finalised on 01/09/2022.

"TNT Sports will present the premium live sports rights previously carried by BT Sport including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, Gallagher Premiership Rugby, Heineken Champions Cup, EPCR Challenge Cup, MotoGP, Cricket, UFC, Boxing and WWE," said the two groups.
