Twitter: Real Madrid earns 418,000 followers (+3.1%) in November, the largest increase in Europe

Real Madrid CF (Liga BBVA) gained 418,000 followers in November 2014, the largest increase amongst European clubs. The Spanish captial city club, which has more than 13.8 million followers on its Twitter account, is the top club in Europe as of 01/12/2014.

Manchester United FC (Barclays Premier League) increased its Twitter followers by 4.9% (180,000 followers) in November, the largest percentage increase of the European Top 20 on the social network. The Red Devils, which rose to fourth place in the Premier League table after winning their last four matches in November, now has 3.9 million Twitter followers.

Manchester United is the third most followed Premier League club behind Arsenal FC (4.9 million followers) and Chelsea FC (4.76 million). The Premier League averages 1.2 million followers per club. The championship is followed by a total of 23.9 million Twitter users.
