Manchester City: record turnover of €426.2m (+28%) and net loss of €28.2m in 2013-14

Manchester City FC (Barclays Premier League) achieved a turnover of £346.5m (€426.2m, excluding transfer activities) during the 2013-14 financial year (from 01/06/2013 to 31/05/2014), up 28% compared to 2012-13 (£271m, €317.1m at the time), announced the club on 03/12/2014. This is the first time that Manchester City has crossed the £300m (€380.2m) threshold in turnover.

The increase in revenue was mainly due to the entry into effect of the new media rights cycle of the Premier League (€2.2bn per year over the 2013 to 2016 period, +70% from the previous cycle). Manchester City reported an operating profit of £58.6m (€72.1m) before transfer activities, but an operating loss of £17.9m (€22m) after incorporating losses from depreciations of player contracts (£76.3m, €93.8m).

The net loss of "Sky Blues" amounted to £22.9m (€28.2m) at 31/05/2014, down 55.6% from the same period a year earlier (-£51.6m, -€60.4m at the time).
