Olympique Lyonnais/DNCG: "The situation was perfectly avoidable" (Jean-Michel Aulas)

"The outcome of the DNCG appeal was unfortunately predictable (for Olympique Lyonnais), given that the guarantees requested were not met. I'm very disappointed. For several reasons. Firstly, because when the club I managed for 36 years hits a rough patch, it hurts me, it's carnal, and I suffer. Secondly, it hurts me all the more because the situation was perfectly avoidable: three months ago, the dossier I submitted to the DNCG aimed to achieve a forecast profit of €90m by using four different levers: refinancing the stadium, selling OL Féminin, selling OL Reign (NWSL) and selling players," said Jean-Michel Aulas, former president of Olympique Lyonnais (from 15/06/1987 to 05/05/2023), to the French financial weekly La Tribune on 20/07/2023.

"These levers were all set in motion in March-April 2023... but the DNCG is doing its job of checking and translating what it sees into action.
