NFL: Washington Commanders sold to Josh Harris for $6bn (€5.4bn), a record for the league

The National Football League has approved the sale of the Washington Commanders franchise by Americans Dan and Tanya Snyder to a consortium led by American businessman Josh Harris for $6.05bn (€5.4bn), "a league-record," announced the NFL on 20/07/2023.

The agreement, which had been reached between the two parties on 12/05/2023, required the approval of at least three quarters (24 out of 32) of the owners of the North American league. Josh Harris is already, via the company Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment founded with his compatriot David Blitzer, co-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers (NBA), the New Jersey Devils (NHL), and minority shareholder of Crystal Palace (Premier League).
