Paris 2024: 8 men's football matches & 12 men's rugby 7s matches on the programme from 24/07/2024

The men's Olympic football and rugby sevens tournaments will kick off on Wednesday 24/07/2024, one year to the day (on 24/07/2023) and two days before the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, scheduled to take place on the Seine on Friday 26/07/2024.

Eight football matches will take place on 24/07/2024 in seven stadiums (detailed programme below), as well as 12 rugby sevens matches, all of which will be staged at the Stade de France in Paris.

All competitions combined, two football matches will mark the very start of the Games, starting at 15:00:
⚽️ "C1" against "C2" at the Parc des Princes (Paris).
⚽️ "B1" against "B2" at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard (Saint-Étienne, Loire).

Half an hour later, at 15:30, the men's rugby sevens tournament will begin at the Stade de France, with the first match counting towards Pool A (duration: 14 minutes; same scoring system as rugby XV, with 5 points for a try, two for a conversion & three for a dropkick and penalty).
