Premier League: office opens in New York (USA), the league's second abroad

The Premier League has opened an office in Manhattan, New York (New York State, USA) to support its growth and that of its clubs, announced the English league on 21/07/2023. This is the second office opened abroad by the Premier League, after the one in Singapore in 2019 aimed at combating piracy in the Asia-Pacific region.

"The League has appointed former NBA, NFL and MLS executive Akash Jain as the US managing director to lead the New York office. Jain brings nearly 20 years of experience driving fan and commercial growth for sports properties globally. The Premier League will seek to deliver more opportunities for fans in the US to engage with the League, while developing partnerships and content strategies to deepen relationships with existing supporters as well as attracting new fans. The US base will build on the opportunities created through the League's highly successful and long-term broadcast partnership with NBC Sports, who became the home of Premier League coverage in the US in 2013."
