Tour de France: a record 42.5 million viewers followed the 2023 edition on France Télévisions

"The Tour de France was watched by 42.5 million French people, i.e. 75% of the population (41.5 million in 2022), on France Télévisions' channels and platforms," according to the audience measurement institute Médiamétrie, published by the public broadcasting group on 24/07/2023. This is an "all-time record," added the group.

Among the figures released by France Télévisions:

• the group recorded "coverage of 4.7 million 15-24 year-olds and an all-time record of 21.6 million active viewers"

• on average, French people watched 5 hours and 55 minutes of the Tour on France Télévisions

• 22 million videos were viewed on France.tv, francetv sport and franceinfo, an "all-time record"

The public TV channel France 2 posted its best average audience in the afternoons (from 15:00 CET) since 2011, with 4.2 million viewers and a 44.1% audience share (+130,000 compared to 2022). Five stages exceeded an average of 5 million viewers on France 2 (on 9, 14, 15, 16 and 22/07/2023).
