Paris 2024: broadcasters of the Olympic Games in the main markets with 1 year to go until the event

With 365 days to go until the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, held from 26/07 to 11/08/2024, find below an initial review of the media rights agreements for broadcasting the competition around the world, as of 26/07/2023.

In France, the competition will be broadcast exclusively free-to-air by France Télévisions. The public broadcasting group has sub-licensed these rights from the American audiovisual group Discovery (now Warner Bros. Discovery), for a sum in excess of €100m, according to the French sports daily L'Équipe, on 22/04/2019. France Télévisions also acquired the audiovisual and digital broadcasting rights to the Paralympic Summer Games from Paris 2024, on 18/01/2022.

Warner Bros. Discovery holds the European pay-TV broadcast rights for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games for its pay-TV group Eurosport. Discovery acquired exclusive broadcasting rights, in 50 European territories, for the Summer and Winter Olympic Games for €1.3bn over the 2018-2024 cycle (four editions), on 29/06/2015.
