Paris 2024: 1 year to go until Thomas Bach's (GER) last Olympic Games as IOC president

The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be the last that Germany's Thomas Bach will attend as IOC President: elected on 10/09/2013 for an eight-year term, he was re-elected on 10/03/2021 for a second and final four-year term, in accordance with Article 20 of the Olympic Charter (document available to download): He will be 70 between Christmas and New Year (he was born on 29/12/1953) and will therefore leave office in 2025, i.e. before the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games (ITA).

"My expectations, one year ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, are those of millions of people around the world: we want to be together again after the pandemic. These are the first Games planned on the basis of the new directions of the Olympic Agenda, a reference that will inspire subsequent editions.
