Ligue 2 BKT: agreement between Nenking & Romain Peugeot for the takeover of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard

The offer by Romain Peugeot, great-grandson of the founder of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard (Jean-Pierre Peugeot, in 1928), to buy the club has been accepted by the Chinese group Nenking, which has owned it since 2020, according to corroborating sources and confirmed by Nicolas Pacquot, Renaissance MP for the 3^rd constituency of Doubs on 26/07/2023.

"Romain Peugeot has pledged to pay €8m to buy the club by mobilising a network of investors supported by local authorities", a sum to which the Nenking group would add "€4m to complete the €12m required for the buyout," according to the radio station France Bleu Belfort-Montbéliard.

According to Nicolas Pacquot, the President of the Republic recalled the Chinese shareholder on 07/25/2023 "at the end of the day, in view of the alert given about the Chinese group's procrastination." The MP praises "the combined efforts of Romain Peugeot, elected officials, the Élysée Palace, former FCSM president Jean-Claude Plessis and supporters' associations", who played, he says, "an essential role".
