Premier League: 'What's important to us is global rights' (Eddy Cue, Apple)

"What's important to us is global rights. We're a global company, we have a large number of customers in every country in the world and it's not exciting for me to have something that one person can have but another can't," said Eddy Cue, senior vice president of services at Apple, the American electronics group, regarding the Premier League's domestic media rights, to the English daily The Mirror, on 22/07/2023.

Apple was, however, interested in acquiring streaming rights to the Premier League in the United Kingdom, from the 2025-26 season, according to Bloomberg, an American economic and financial information site, on 23/03/2023.

Over the 2022-2025 cycle (as during the 2019-2022 cycle), the domestic rights to the Premier League are held by Sky (pay-TV, 128 live matches), TNT Sports (pay-TV, 52 live matches), Amazon (pay-TV, 20 matches and two full matchdays on an exclusive basis) and the BBC (free-TV, for free-to-air highlights).
